Launch of a Competition in the Field of Chemical Research Following correspondence from the DCEU, I am pleased to inform you that the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) has announced the launch of a competition for a prestigious prize in the field of fundamental and applied chemical research, particularly for its contribution to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The eligibility requirements for this competition are as follows: be a Russian or foreign scientist under the age of 55; submit an application individually or as part of a research team of no more than three (3) members; not be a current employee of RUDN University; not have published jointly with RUDN researchers in the last ten years. Applications must be submitted by September 16, 2026. The prize, worth 3 million rubles (approximately €32,000), will be awarded during the University’s anniversary celebration in February 2027. UNESCO-King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education For the purpose of disseminating this information to the entire academic and research community, I am honored to inform you of the launch by the Directorate-General of UNESCO of the call for applications for the 2026 edition of the UNESCO-King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education. The theme of this year’s prize is “Reinventing Creativity and Critical Thinking with Artificial Intelligence,” and two (2) laureates will be selected and awarded US $25,000 each. This Prize was established in 2005 with the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Its objective is to reward the projects and activities of individuals, institutions, other entities, or non-governmental organizations that demonstrate models of excellence, best practices, and the ingenious use of information and communication technologies to promote learning, teaching, and educational performance in general. In this regard, our country, as a member of UNESCO, is invited to submit up to three (3) nominations by May 8, 2026, online and through the National Commission. Announcement for Participation in the Robonexus World Robotics Championship We are pleased to inform you that we have received a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informing us that King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is organizing the Robonexus World Robotics Championship. Call for Applications – 10th Edition of the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences I have the honor of forwarding to you the correspondence from the Deputy Director of University Cooperation and Research Programs, for distribution to the entire academic and research community, regarding the launch of the call for applications for the 10th edition of the UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Life Sciences. This prize was established by the UNESCO Executive Board to recognize scientific projects and activities carried out by individuals, institutions, and NGOs that contribute to advancing research in the life sciences. A maximum of three (3) laureates will be awarded a total of USD 300,000, to be shared among them.
