WIPO Global Prizes – 2026 Edition Following correspondence from the Directorate of Cooperation and University Exchanges regarding the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Global Prizes for 2026, I am pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has received a call for applications from WIPO for the “2026 WIPO Global Prizes – The United Nations Prizes for Innovative and Creative Enterprises.” The application period is open from January 15, 2026, to March 31, 2026. It should be noted that these prizes aim to recognize startups, SMEs, and university research-based companies that demonstrate exceptional innovation and leverage intellectual property for economic growth and socio-economic development. To this end, I kindly ask you to ensure that this information is widely disseminated within the establishments and to communicate to us, if necessary, any information relating to successful applications.

Call for Nominations for the ESCWA Arabic Digital Content Award 2025-2026 The call for nominations for the ESCWA Arabic Digital Content Award for Sustainable Development 2025-2026 is now open, as per the document attached to this email. This award aims to recognize outstanding digital projects that support digital content and the development of high-quality digital content aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab region. Participation in this event is open to public and private institutions, academic or non-governmental organizations, and young entrepreneurs from Arab countries who have created applications or products in Arabic digital content that have had a clear impact on society. Entrepreneurs, whether founders of startups, youth teams, or individuals, must be under 35 years of age. The selection of winning projects will be based on the following criteria: local impact, value, content, functionality, design, technology, and innovation. The winners of this award will be announced during the 2026 Arab Summit for Small and Medium Enterprises.  Applications are submitted in this regard.
